Saskatoon, SK — The Nepalese Community of Saskatoon (NECOS) Inc. is set to host a Workshop on Financial Governance Remodeling and Community Development Strategic Plan (FGCD On Track) this fall in support of the People’s Bridge Advocacy (PBA) Bridging Support Fund (BSF) generously sponsored by the “McConnell Foundation”. NECOS has received $ 4,000.00 in funding to complete the project.
The event will bring together past board members and key community representatives, whose insights and experiences will help shape NECOS’s future direction.
NECOS Inc., a growing community organization, has long operated under bylaws that provide a general framework for its financial and operational activities. However, as community membership expands, new programs emerge, and leadership transitions occur, the organization has recognized the need for clearer documentation, stronger knowledge transfer mechanisms, and defined operational procedures.
The FGCD On Track initiative seeks to address these gaps by focusing on four key activities:
– Conducting a comprehensive review and gap analysis
– Developing a continuous improvement mechanism
– Establishing a funding concept and allocation system
– Enhancing accounting records, reporting methods, and devices
By implementing these measures, NECOS aims to strengthen its financial governance and organizational structure, promoting greater accountability, transparency, and long-term sustainability within the community.
